Blog statistics: yes, but not too much
I've always had mixed feelings about statistical systems within a blog. The first thing that comes to mind is that numbers are not fundamental to me, as I find writing to be a relaxing activity that helps me organize my thoughts. For this reason, it doesn't matter whether 1, 10, or 20 people read what I write.
However, I'm pleased to know that someone reads my articles, so knowing some numbers can encourage me to continue writing. I believe that simple and privacy-respecting statistical systems can provide anonymous feedback that helps a blogger to keep writing.
